Edward White Hospital, Your Community Hospital, Launches A Step Ahead for Amputees Support Program
St. Petersburg, FL - In observance of national Limb Loss Awareness Month, Edward White Hospital and A Step Ahead for Amputees, the bay area's first comprehensive program with an action-oriented support group for amputees and those facing limb-loss, will hold an informational kick-off event for the program on Fri., April 29, 2011, from 12 noon - 1:30 p.m. at the hospital, 2299 - 9th Ave. N. Suite 1-G, St. Petersburg (auditorium east side of the hospital).
Amputees and those facing limb-loss are invited to attend. There is no cost to attend the event or to participate in the A Step Ahead for Amputees program.
The event will feature an overview of the A Step Ahead for Amputees program by its founder, Jamie Kay Weil, and remarks by Sheri Gruden, an amputee and A Step Ahead for Amputees participant, along with Roland Metivier, CEO of Edward White Hospital.

A Step Ahead for Amputees provides emotional and physical support to amputees and those facing limb-loss, helping them return to a normal, active life. The group plans its own action-oriented activities, which will include sailing, kayaking and boat-fishing during the coming months.
