Edward White Hospital RN wins Clinical Care Award for 2010

February 7, 2011 St. Petersburg, FL – It was announced recently that Edward White Hospital’s Carol (Beanie) Terzigni, RN, CCRN, AON won the Nursing Spectrum 2010 Florida Nursing Excellence in Clinical Care Award. A panel of local nurse leaders chose six winners from among 18 finalists for Nursing Spectrum’s Nursing Excellence Awards program in the following categories: Advancing and Leading the Profession, Clinical Care, Community Service, Management, Mentoring and Teaching.

These winners represent Florida RNs who have used their knowledge, skills and passion to catapult the nursing profession forward. Terzigni was nominated by her manager, Edward White Hospital Director of ICU Susan Finch.

Finch said, “For Beanie, striving for clinical excellence is a daily practice.” She continues, “When the unit is unusually hectic and nurses become frustrated, she is first to identify the need for stress relief. She positively affects morale.”

Finch also gave a couple examples of Terzigni’s nursing strengths, including one story of how she determined the source of a patient’s anaphylaxis. On September 10, an awards ceremony and reception in honor of Ms. Terzigni was held at the hospital’s ICU area.
